Timber Engineering – The Problem

structural_repairs_1

When Dry Rot or Wet Rot occurs in timber beam or truss ends it usually requires extensive opening up and destructive works to replace the timber or “bolt on” unsightly steel plates or side-splice. Timberwise prides itself on being at the forefront of timber technology and have with a number of resin manufacturers, helped develop a range of resins suitable for almost any eventuality.

The replacing of timbers is a highly skilled job requiring expert knowledge of timber replacement.

  • Repairs often require the removal of ceilings and floorboards and the formation of new wall sockets to allow for side splicing
  • Some repairs will need to be carried out in restricted areas or involve reinforcing weak joints or making good stress cracks
  • Specifications may require that the aesthetic features of the original timber are retained
