The former grade 2 listed building in Trumpington Street, Cambridge is undergoing a multi million pound renovation which will see the tired old building turned into a fantastic new hotel. Building work has been underway for almost a year and ancient architectural features, some dating as far back as the medieval period, are being preserved, including 2 wells which will be glassed over and will act as a focal point in one of the rooms and a bakers oven that will appear in another of the rooms. Overall, the hotel itself with have an organic and dramatic appearance with brickwork on open display.
When complete there will be 41 bedrooms and suites (some enjoying private gardens) as well as a bistro, champagne bar, library and private cellar dining rooms.
Timberwise are delighted to be involved in the renovations of the building and wish Hotel du Vin every success with their new hotel.
