The Problem

Four under pavement barrel vaults had been waterproofed previously. As a result of traffic vibration and substrate failure the existing cement based system failed due to differential movement, and water seepage occurred. The client required the vaults for display of high quality “designer” fashion goods and accessories.

The Solution

The solution consisted of an 8mm floor cavity drain membrane, an 8mm wall cavity drain membrane, including a full barrel vaulted application, a full perimeter WaterGuard drainage channel installation and a SuperSump Facility.

The application achieved the highest grade of basement (Grade 4) under BS8102: 1990 given that a full damp/water and vapour proof system was required.
