True dry rot eradication

Following the discovery of fruiting bodies (sporophores) belonging to the True Dry Rot (Serpula Lacrymans) in the main public entrance area of the North Wales bank Timberwise were instructed to carry out remedial treatments. Using our extensive experise in the treatment of dry rot we were able to identify the main carrier beams and floor joists and initiate first aid treatments to reduce the growth of the attack prior to carrying out the necessary specialist works to eradicate the dry rot problem. The source of the outbreak was caused by high moisture levels from the basement area below – to resolve this a basement waterproofing solution utilising a sump pump unit was installed to remove water from the basement. All the work that was necessary to be carried out was done on evening and weekends so as to minimise disruption to the bank and their clients.

The end result though – the eradication of the dry rot problem and a dry basement.
