Type C Waterproofing systems allow water to flow freely through a cavity between the exterior and interior walls of a basement (by way of a cavity drain membrane), before it is channeled via perimeter drainage channel into a sump, from where it can then safely be drained or pumped away via a pump unit. It is by far the most trouble free and effective form of waterproofing a structure in the ground, especially where the basement area is to be used for habitable accommodation.
