A common problem within a lift shafts and lift pits is water ingress within the lift pit; the lift pit is the lowest section of the lift shaft that generally falls below ground level.
Over time any water within the retained soil behind the lift pit structure finds its way through any cracks, joints or defects within the lift pit construction which then subsequently runs down the internal face of the wall and creates pools of water on the floor of the lift pit.
The first problem this could create is if the lift pit is constructed of reinforced concrete, any water seepage that occurs can cause the reinforcement bar to corrode and expand which will ultimately bring about cracking of the concrete thus causing additional water penetration not to mention the structural troubles that may emanate.
Further problems could then be caused to the lift mechanism and electrical system if any of the water ingress or pooling water comes into contact with these items.

So it makes sense to have these problems rectified quickly to save on the expense of constant replacement.
Here at Timberwise, under our Structuralwise brand, we can offer a solution for this problem in the form of injection water proofing.
Our injection systems can be used to seal the problem areas quickly, cleanly and with a minimum amount of fuss. Our injection system enables us to target specific problem areas such as joints, cracks or single wall elevations which could mean that financial gains could be made over other systems.
Benefits of using the Structuralwise injection water proofing system with lift shafts / lift pits are:
It can be used on all types of masonry i.e. stone, concrete, brick even metal.
It can stop fast flowing water or water under pressure.
