We at Timberwise are delighted to be able to invite you to a CPD seminar day to be hosted at the National Museum of Coal Mining at Overton, Wakefield.

We have selected 4 fantastic speakers who are specialists in their fields to talk about various aspects of  “Property & Structural Solutions” that are currently available. From the mysterious world of Dry Rot to exciting new developments with Green Roofs – there is something of interest for everyone.

The seminar day will be of interest to Architects, Building Surveyors, Structural Engineers and anybody who is concerned with property maintenance and repair.

The topics and speakers at the event are:
Structural Maintenance Repair Systems

  • Jonathon Thomas: Jonathon has over 20 years experience in the specialist repair of buildings and is the Technical Manager of Thor Helical, the pioneers and manufacturers of Helical fixing systems that are used in the repair and reinforcement of masonry and timber structures.
  • An Introduction To Green Roofs
  • Dr Jacqui Hailey: Jacqui is the Technical Manager at Safeguard  and is an expert on the subject of green roofs having advised on  many pitched and flat green roof projects.

Dry Rot – The Facts

  • Graham Coleman: Graham has been in private practice as an independent consultant since 1982. He specialises in laboratory and consultancy services examining dampness, timber infestation and timber decay problems in the built environment. Graham is widely recognised as one of the country’s foremost independent experts in this field.
  • Timber Engineering & Repair
  • David Smedley: David is the Technical Manager for Rotafix – specialising in the use of timber resin technology in construction. David has been involved in the specialist repair of buildings for over 25 years.

The Venue: The National Coal Mining Museum, Wakefield

The National Coal Mining Museum for England is located at Caphouse Colliery, on the western edge of the Yorkshire coalfield, where mining has been carried out for centuries.

Included in the CPD seminar day is lunch, refreshments and complimentary access to the museum.
