What’s your role at Timberwise?
“I am a Surveyor for the South West region, it’s my responsibility to carry out damp and timber surveys for our customers across Hampshire. It is also my responsibility, along with the rest of the team, to nurture and develop commercial clients in order to provide them with the best possible experience.”
What made you apply for the job at Timberwise?
“Being a key influencer in the industry I had heard of Timberwise and I was keen to join a national company where I could progress so for me joining the Timberwise team was a no-brainer.
Timberwise are also very passionate about development, so much so they have a Training Director overseeing all in-house and external training. I wanted to join a team with better prospects of career development and training so naturally, Timberwise was the perfect fit for me”.
How is Timberwise different to where you’ve worked before?
“Timberwise prides itself on their friendly and family culture, so I’m seen as a person rather than just a number on a balance sheet. I understand where I have an important part to play in supporting the business.”
What does a standard working day look like for you?
“No two days in Timberwise are ever the same! One day I could be carrying out a timber survey on a residential home and the next designing a waterproofing solution for a commercial building. One thing is sure, work is continuous and the projects themselves are always interesting.”
What would you say is your biggest achievement/proudest moment in Timberwise to date?
“Thanks to Timberwise’s continued support I have passed all my exams to date, first time and with flying colours. I’m looking forward to developing my skills further in 2018.“
