What is a CSTDB Surveyor?

9 May 2018

Here at Timberwise, we want to be the UK’s go-to expert in specialist property care and preservation, and we know one of the ways to achieve this is to invest in our people.

That’s why the development of skills and knowledge is a top priority. Our Surveyors undergo thorough in-house and external training in order to gain the recognised industry qualifications.

The Certificated Surveyor in Remedial Treatments (CSRT) qualification, which is held by Timberwise Surveyors and delivered by the Property Care Association, has now been re-named Certificated Surveyor of Timber & Dampness in Buildings (CSTDB).

To attain CSTDB status candidates are required to pass ALL THREE modules:

  • Damp
  • Timber
  • Legal and Health & Safety

All Timberwise Surveyors who successfully pass the CSTDB examinations from 2018 onwards will be awarded the level 3 ‘Certificated Surveyor of Timber and Dampness in Buildings – CSTDB’.

The original CSRT qualification continues to be recognised as a professional qualification for surveyors in the remedial property industry. Although the qualification name has changed; our customers can have the utmost confidence and trust in the Timberwise ability to provide them with a professional experience that not only meets but exceeds their expectations.
