What is a bellcast bead?

5 September 2018

A bellcast bead, usually made of PVC or steel, is designed to deflect rainwater. The previous render at ground level is removed and the existing bridging render from the contact with the external floor and is terminated back above internal floor level. A bellcast bead is then installed including a formation of a bellcast detail in order to allow water to drop away from the building fabric.

What are the benefits of using a bellcast bead?

Discreet but strong, bellcast beads can face the elements and avoid corrosion.
