About Eleanor Wood

Eleanor is an experienced Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) professional with a strong background in construction, property preservation and high-risk operational environments. With over a decade of experience across the construction and COMAH sectors, she has developed extensive expertise in occupational health and safety management, compliance, operational risk reduction and continual improvement.

As Health & Safety Manager at Timberwise, Eleanor supports the company’s commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety and professionalism across its nationwide operations. Working closely with operational teams, management and external advisors, she helps develop practical safety systems and procedures that support both employees and customers while ensuring compliance with current legislation and industry best practice.

Eleanor has particular expertise in occupational health risks associated with the construction and property preservation industries, including dust exposure, vibration, noise, manual handling, work at height and asbestos management. She has led initiatives to improve dust management, health surveillance, training compliance and tool standardisation, helping to strengthen operational controls while improving workforce engagement and safety performance.

Alongside operational responsibilities, Eleanor is leading the implementation of an Integrated Management System aligned to ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 standards, helping formalise and strengthen business processes, governance and continual improvement across the organisation. She works closely with senior leadership teams, and operational managers to ensure compliance arrangements remain practical, proportionate and supportive of operational delivery.

Eleanor is NEBOSH qualified and is currently working towards Chartered Membership of IOSH through the Experiential Route. Passionate about creating positive workplace culture, she is known for her practical and collaborative approach to health and safety, helping operational teams understand risk, improve standards and embed safety into everyday working practices rather than treating it as a standalone function.

Outside of work, Eleanor enjoys travelling, city breaks and researching destinations for future adventures, particularly those combining luxury, culture and relaxation. She also has a longstanding interest in aviation and previously held a Private Pilot Licence (PPL), although she reluctantly allowed the licence to lapse due to the time commitments involved with raising children and balancing family life with career responsibilities.
