About Jason Wakefield

Jason is a recognised authority in structural waterproofing and basement protection, with a career in the specialist preservation industry dating back to 1991. With extensive experience across both residential and commercial sectors, he has developed particular expertise in the diagnosis, design, and delivery of effective waterproofing systems in accordance with current standards and best practice.

Beginning his career as a technician, Jason built invaluable hands-on knowledge before progressing into surveying and earning his professional qualifications. His practical foundation, combined with decades of project experience, gives him a comprehensive understanding of below-ground structures, water ingress mechanisms, and the critical detailing required to ensure long-term performance.

A CSSW-qualified specialist, Jason has held senior roles within Timberwise, including National Waterproofing Manager, overseeing complex projects across multiple regions. He has consulted with more than 9,000 clients, earning a reputation for clear technical guidance and robust, compliant waterproofing design solutions.

In addition to his work with Timberwise, Jason serves as Chairman of the Property Care Association’s Structural Waterproofing Steering Group (SWSG), helping to shape industry standards, technical guidance, and best practice across the UK. This leadership role further underlines his standing as a trusted expert within the sector.

Based in Reading, Jason continues to support clients with strategic, technically sound advice, reflecting Timberwise’s values of honesty, integrity, reliability, and teamwork.

Outside of work, he enjoys kayaking, cycling, and countryside walks.
