It could be down to how your home is built: If your home isn’t designed with ventilation in mind, or the ventilation methods have defects, then these are not your fault. You should check your installed ventilation methods and any documentation provided to understand their ideal use and consult any guarantees of work if you suspect these are not working as intended." } }, { "@type": "Question", "name": "How long until my house is fully dry?", "acceptedAnswer": { "@type": "Answer", "text": "Often it takes between 12-24 months for a home to achieve moisture balance, depending on occupancy, ventilation and moisture controls used in the property over this period." } }, { "@type": "Question", "name": "Can I just buy a dehumidifier and forget about ventilation?", "acceptedAnswer": { "@type": "Answer", "text": "A dehumidifier can address the symptoms of high humidity within a home and are especially good in isolated areas without proper ventilation. They are also generally economical to run, even over long periods. A dehumidifier does require regular maintenance to ensure it works at ideal efficiency and effect: cleaning the filter is required every 2-4 weeks to ensure dirt doesn’t reduce functionality, and you’ll also need to empty the water reservoir as it fills to ensure it can remove as much moisture from the surroundings as possible. A home dehumidifier will also not have the strength required to deal with large-scale damp, and commercial dehumidifiers can be costly both to buy or rent and to run. Without addressing root causes such as ventilation or air flow, the issue may return." } } ] }, { "@type": "Article", "@id": "https://www.timberwise.co.uk/blog/property-care-awards-win-2025", "mainEntityOfPage": { "@type": "WebPage", "@id": "https://www.timberwise.co.uk/blog/property-care-awards-win-2025" }, "headline": "Timberwise Secures Big Win at the 15th Annual Property Care Awards", "name": "Timberwise Secures Big Win at the 15th Annual Property Care Awards", "description": "Timberwise once again rose to prominence by winning the Training and Development award at the 15th Annual Property Care Awards on Thursday 27th November", "image": { "@type": "ImageObject", "url": "https://www.timberwise.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Black-mould-spores-spreading-on-a-wall.jpg" }, "author": { "@type": "Organization", "name": "Timberwise", "url": "https://www.timberwise.co.uk" }, "publisher": { "@type": "Organization", "@id": "https://www.timberwise.co.uk/#organization", "name": "Timberwise", "logo": { "@type": "ImageObject", "url": "https://www.timberwise.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Timberwise-Red-T-Logo.png" } }, "sameAs": [ "https://www.facebook.com/TimberwiseUKltd", "https://www.linkedin.com/company/timberwise-uk-ltd/", "https://www.instagram.com/timberwise/", "https://www.tiktok.com/@timberwise.property.care", "https://x.com/Timberwise" ], "datePublished": "2025-11-28", "dateModified": "2025-11-28", "inLanguage": "en-GB", "keywords": [ "Property Care Awards", "Property Care", "UK", "PCA", "Timberwise" ], "genre": "Blog", "about": { "@type": "Service", "name": "Damp & Timber Reports", "url": "https://www.timberwise.co.uk/our-services/damp-and-timber-reports/" } } ] }

Timberwise once again rose to prominence by winning the Training and Development award at the 15th Annual Property Care Awards, hosted by the Property Care Association (PCA) on Thursday 27th November.

A long-standing member of the Property Care Association (PCA), Timberwise won the Training and Development award for its ongoing commitments to professional development for not only its surveyors and technicians, but also its office-based employees. It also offers its CPD seminars to third party clients, either through on-site instruction or a digital seminar. This win presents a significant victory for Timberwise after its efforts in maintaining and improving on its RIBA-Accredited CPD offerings, as well as keeping a determined focus on the uspskilling and continued development of all its employees.

Timberwise were entered and nominated for two of the nine awards on the night, and came close to a second win on the night in the Project Awards category, where it was nominated for the Health and Safety award, and were awarded the ‘Highly Commended’ trophy.

George Edwards, Timberwise MD, reflected on both Health and Safety and New CPD offerings in a recent interview: “Our nomination for the Property Care Association Healthy & Safety award is something I am immensely proud of. It’s a sure sign that the measures we have in place as a business are working, and that’s not something we want to keep to ourselves. This acknowledgement of all of our efforts into health and safety by the PCA affirms that all the work we have done in recent years to make sure that Timberwise is not only a leading force when it comes to the quality of our work, but also an industry leader when it comes health and safety throughout the workplace is paying off, which is incredible to see.”

When asked about how he felt regarding the win for the Training and Development award, George had this to say: “Our win for the Training and Development award has once again proven that the PCA recognise our steadfast commitment to developing our team, equipping them with the skills to work to the highest standards on site, in the office, or wherever they might be. But it’s not just technical training we want to encourage at Timberwise, professional development and making sure our team feels encouraged to  progress in their own career is just as important.’

George and the wider Timberwise team recognises the efforts of its Training and Development team, its Health and Safety representatives, as well as the PCA itself, for acknowledging the incredibly hard work that everyone in Timberwise puts into the company to make it not just a better place to work, but a better experience for our customers.
