Having dampness in buildings is a problem that you will come face to face with. In this popular CPD seminar, we assess how to identify the causes of damp and the different types that can affect your property. The three types of damp are penetrating damp, condensation and rising damp. Diagnosing the damp issue is relatively easy, however, diagnosing the causes of damp can be much more complicated to work out.
The common symptoms of dampness are: peeling paper, black mould, moisture forming on the windows and walls and crumbling plaster. We will finally explain that various types of damp have their own symptoms and their own methods of damp proofing. Before any treatment can be carried out, the diagnosis needs to be correct so that the problem is not made worse.
