    My Journey with Timberwise Scotland

    Our Damp Proofing Survey Process

Once you have booked your survey with our team, our PCA-qualified surveyor will visit your property to carry out a number of assessments designed to accurately diagnose the specific type of damp present, and its source.

We will measure moisture and salt levels throughout the affected areas, check for previously installed damp proof coursing (DPCs), and assess whether there are any environmental or structural factors that could be facilitating water ingress or damp. Our surveyors will also record the humidity levels in the property, review the ventilation present, and note if there is any black mould present in the property.

Once our surveyor has finished they will collect their findings into a clearly written report, which will be delivered to you once complete. This report will include all the discoveries made by our surveyor, with the reccomended remdial works to be carried out by our technicians outlined with delivery times and a clear, no obligation quote included.

How Do We Carry Out Damp Proofing?

Damp proofing can be complicated, and no two jobs are ever the same. Luckily our team of specialist technicians have all been through extensive training and qualifications with the PCA to ensure that they are always providing the latest and best form of damp proofing available.

Normally rising damp is treated by our technicans installing a damp proof course (or DPC). Our technicians will drill a small hole into the wall in question, before injecting in a damp proof cream, which is effective at treating most rising damp related problems.

For any other damp-related problems, our technicians will either makethe required structural repairs to the fabric of the property (like repairing a timber window for example), or be able to suggest and install ventilation upgrades inclduing a positive pressure system, designed to improve airflow and reduce condendation levels.
