Timberwise have been involved with all sorts of different projects within the Chester area. One notable project was within a public house in Chester that was owned by Hydes Brewery, on a case of suspected Dry Rot.

The client became concerned about a potential spread of dry rot within a public house that they owned. After our team had conducted a survey that involved exposure works along the front elevation of the building, dry rot was discovered by the surveyor on site.

The dry rot had spread, and was affecting large and crucial areas of the structure like the rafters, ceiling joists, parapet windows, window jambs, and window frames.

This mean that extensive timber treatments were going to have to be carried out in areas affected by the dry rot to bring the property back into good health. This involved the removal and cutting back of ceiling joists and rafters where needed, followed by the fixing of new timber to sections of the property where they were needed as a replacement.
